THE HONG KONG DAILY PRESS, SATURDAY, JUNE 25th, 1927.
This afternoon the Filipino nine will meet the Recreio and a great game is expected. Both teame are in good form and it is hard to say who will come out top dog.
*
There are, of course, weak spots on both sides, If the Filipinos could persuade Currcem to play all through the innings, they would
gain inuch by it.
*
Zafra is a useful man on the mound, and be should be given a Julle pitching to do. Hernaez al first base needs to be fore on the alert, as a passed ball in that ter ritory means au extra base.
*
*
Gosano, I understand, will be making an appearance this after noun for the Recreio. He will be valable arguisition, for he plays a great game, and the fans will all be pleased to see him in action

The 5th extra race meeting of the Hong Kong Jockey Club will pray a strong rival to the usual launch and bathing picnics. This meeting is the last before the final extra ruc meetings in October and No vember, which have been fixed for October 8th and 10th, and November 5th and 26th. Some good rannine is expected today and Rapier's " notes and tips appear in another
column.
The pitching prowess of Reme- dios is all that could be desired, but the team-work should be deve loped a little more. The Recries outfit will make themselves felt, and the Filipinos will have to put themselves out if they wish to win.

S.C.A.A. LEAGUE SEASON,
OPENING DAY.
As so frequently happens in a championship final, play was not of the highest description, but there were times when the match proved of the utmost interest.
In the morning Pileher went out in 40, while Stewart took 41, and Pilcher at this stage of the game stood one up. Then play improved to a very considerable degree, and Stewart came back in 35, which was very good going, while Pilcher re quired a couple of strokes more for these nine holes. The position was now reversed, Stewart recovering the hole he had lost in the outward dialf and standing one up.
