SECOND EXTRA RACE MEETING.
FURTHER UPSETS AND GOOD DIVIDENDS.
HONOURS EVENLY DISTRIBUTED.
The general conditions at the Valley were much better than "they were on Saturday. The attendance was very good and the presence of the ladies coupled with the delightful music discoursed by the band of the E.G.S.B.'s contributed materially to the after- poon's success, Mr. Dynasty had a good day and he refused to part with King Alan in the Selling Race (No. 1) and bought the pony back for $260 None of the other ponies were bid for after this race. Everyone was pleased to see Harold Seth back in the saddle and his experienced riding was responsible for District Call being placed. Most of the races were well contested and the Handicapper has avery reason to be satisfied with the result of his labours. The course was much more slippary than it was on Saturday and the going in parts was very difficult. The smooth running of the Jockey Club machinery is the only reward expected » by the Clerk of the Course and the Officials of the Jockey Club, and it is well deserved.
THE RACING.
Follock must be fairly it now as be brought along The Goblin in the first race in fine style to win by a head from King of the Plaina with Macao Beauty a length and a half;
away.
Scooter won the second race fairly easily with King Alan three lengths away and the favourite, Loch Ran. soch, a bad third:
In the third race Reidy brought Tangio Home by a bead from The Grig with Bright Eve hall a length away. This was a good race and had the riding been straight 'the result might have been different.
Macao came into the lime light by the win of. Flash Star in the fourth race with Brigade Call a length away and Ukelele well be) hind. Brigade Call was the favour- i ite but little is as yet known sa to the possibilities of the Macao ponies and they must not in future be allowed to run loose.

The eighth race went to Potter- bush which seems to be in a win ning mood. Loch Tummel and Kom Tong Hall dead heated for the remaining places.
The ninth race was rather a sur- prise and King of the Plains re- warded his backer with a dividend of $117.30. Baccarat came second and was naturally a very hot favour- ite in view of Saturday's victory in the Aggregate Stakes.. The time was very good and King of the Plains shewed a clean pair of heels to the Field from the commence- ment of the race. The Gomeril took third place as was generally anticipated.

PIGS LIKE TIGERS.
ROME.
A sow. at Bibbona, in Maremma,, has given birth to six animals which all who have seen them declare to resemble tigers, more than anything else.
They have soft fur yellows in colour, with black stripes:
They resemble pigs only in their legs and feet..
