SPORTS MEETING OF KOWLOON.

CENTRAL BRITISH SCHOOL

There was keen competition in the annual sports of the Central British School, held at King'a Park, Kowloon, on Saturday,

The Hon. Mr. T. W. Southorn Mrs. (Colonial Secretary) and Southern attended together with a large assembly of parents.

As the close of the meeting the Wylie Inter House Sports Cup was presented by Mrs. "Southern to Red House which won an overwhelming victory over the rival Blue House.

Individant prizes were not given at this meeting, but the successful- competitors earned the right to wer small silver pendants until the next meeting when they will have to be returned to the school authorities to be competed again,

for

Of the 150 boy and girl students of the school, 120 took part in the meeting and were divided into two "houses," the idea being to dis courage pot hunting" on the part of the students and to instil inte them the team work" spirit. The method of scoring for the Inter. Hause Championship is three points for a win, two fer second, and one for third pince

Most of the events were divided into senior and junior classes, the winners and "placed" competitors in both classer scoring points for their respective houses,

Only three events did not count points towards the Championship, these being the Sack Race, Obstacle Race and Three Legged Egg and Spoon Race.

In the last named évent the com petitors run half the distance in three legged pairs and then pick up the eggs and spoons and scurry home.
