The Committee on the Recall of Educational Control from the Hands of Foreigners." This body, with its high sounding title has been formed "by Mr. Chiu Un Lai, the Swatow Civil Governor. With a stroke of the pen, this young maa of 24 summers is apparently to be per mitted to endanger the patient work of over half a century.
The Committee in constituted of The Students' Alliance: The Teachers' Alliance; The People's League and the

The Chinese representatives claimed that the institu- tion was formed and run by Chinese loan; they had over 180 boys, and were dependent on school fees and public donations to cover their upkeep expenses. They said they had never had the least connection with the British.
In reply, the Chief Director said that since the Gospel Primary School had no connection whatever with the British then the word "Gospel" should be struck out of its name. To this the representatives
agreed:

The Boys' Brigade School came to state their ease. They said that the School was formerly supported by foreigners but had now severed connection with them. Formerly religious subjects were taught
