THE HONGKONG DAILY PRESS, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21st, 1925
The shipping statement for yesterday, showed that the total number of vessels in the harbour si 0 a.m was 63, of which 30 were British.
For the twenty-four hours ended, at! 9am yesterday there were twelve- arrivals, of which three were British, one American, one French, one Portugueso, three Dutch and three Japanese. The departates for the same period number- ed eight and two vessels had clearance papers in.
Cargo entered for Hongkong, totalled 8,205 tons, against 4,381 tons in the pre- Empress of Australia, British str., tegevious twenty-four hours when there were only four arrivals. The largest entries wera by the ss. Ho Sang from Calcutta and Singapore (3,272 tons); the Song Bo from Haiphong and Fort Bayard (1,100 tons) and the as Tjibini from Batavaia and Balikpapao (2,231 tans), The through cargo entered was 23,310 tons The total cargo was 33,505

An Associated Press Radio message to Manila from Seattle on the 14th inst, said:-W, C. Dawson and a group of Seattle shipping men have made an offer Batur. 21 to the United States Shipping Board for the vessels operated between Seattle and the Far East Mr. Dawson said to-day that the offer, was to operate the ships on an agency basis with an agreement to purchase as soon as the funds are ob- tainable.
