At the time of an annual meeting we look backward and forward. This year is a real milestone in our Association life because it marks our fifth year of or- ganized efort. In looking back, it is nearly ten years since a group of Hong kong women asked for an interview with the National Secretary, and requested that a Secretary be sent to help estah lish an Association here. In, 19: the Secretary arrived, and in 1918 pre-or- ganization work was begun. For quore than a year Bible classes, devotional meetings and social gatherings were car. ried on in the old building used by the St. Paul's Girls' School. In 1990, these present quarters were found, and the Association was formally organized on March 10th. There was a charter mein- bership of 111, which has in fire years grown to 310. The Association has met a need of self-expression in Christian

service.

I take this oportunity of expressing my warmest appreciation of the unfailing devotion and loyalty of the present staff- Mrs. Yung, Miss Wong and Miss Lei, Mrs. Yung the senior Chinese Secretary, takes much responsibility for the general work and full responsibility for the men hership. Miss Wong gives special atten tion to the religious, educational and student work, and is also hostess for the hostel Mias Lei has heen giving her time to the girls' work and to the educa
