EAST SURREYS » POLICE.
The game started late on the South China ground and finished in semi-dark- ness the final whistle sounding close on a quarter past six. The Police opened the score early in the game when Johnson got his head to a well placed corner kick by Britton. After this the Surreys were continually shooting at goal, but Clarks was in great form in goal for the Police. The Police broke through and Johnson taking the ball on the run from a well placed enter by Simpson lifted it over ihe bar. Eaton, who was closely watch- ed by Fenn and Harle, had several shots at goals one of which Clarke failed to reach and the ball landing high in the net made the score, one goal all. The Surreys continued to have the better at the exchanges but failed to add to their score and the interval found both teams egaali all.
From the restart the Surreys were early attacking but had the mis- iaisfortune to lose their centre forward who was ordered off by the reforce.
After this the Surreys four forwards worried the Police defence Butler and Eaton giving a lot of trouble.. Clarke dealt successfully with a fast ground shot. but coming in again the Surreys' inside left seat in a fast low cross shot which Clarke misjudged and the ball landed in the net giving the Surreys the lead.. le was a well deserved goal and brought forth much applause. After this a change came over the game and Enton running through scored the third goal from close sange The light was bad and from the touch line it was ditheult to follow the Aight of the Ball. Before the close Butler came through and put on the fourth goal, the Surreys winning by four goals to one

SOUTH CHINA ** B.”
On the Navy" ground South China fielded a weak side but managed to play the RA. to the odd goal in five. At the time for the kick off the South China felded seven men only and did pot want to play the match thereby con- cuding the points to the R.A. However the referee whistled the teams to line up and the game started. In the first minute of the game the R.A. scored Eaton was a dangerous forward at all through Harris, and Sowter and Hem- sworth scored before the interval: times, and although he missed from Several comers fell to the R.A. but they perialty kick early in the second half he could do everything but score. At the deserves great credit for the two goals interval the score was three to in scored. From the kick off it was evident favour of the R.A. The R. A. alakened that he was a marked man for be was seldom left alone. Being a strong player be tackled his opponents well, and at the same time had perfect control of the ball. Butler was also good in the for- ward line and scored two splendid goals. The wing men were speedy and dropped the ball well in from the touch lines Honours go to Clarke for the fine dis play in the Police goal. Forbes played A good game in the centre half position being up against a fast forward line. Wynne and Harle were good in defence while Johnson and Simpson were the pick of the forward line.

H.M.S. ** TAMAR " ♪. SOUTH CHINA.
The sailors in the first half seldom broke away but when they did the efforts of the forwards were too disjointed to be of any danger to the Chinese defence. Late in the hali Connor sent in a fine drive which Lau Ring Cheung cleared well, but this was the only occasion dur ing the half that the latter was troubled The Chinese went near to scoring just before half time when Wavish ved a hot shut from Shei Kam Shung in great style. The game at this stage had been all in the favour of the Chinese, but the Temar defence had held out very well, and weak finishing had spoilt many or the locals movements. Half time South China, 1: Tamar, 0. The final whistle Hounded with the Chinese easy winners. by there goals to mil.
77.
The Chines were the faster and cleverer team all through; their combin- aton was gid, and the team as a whole played good football The defence had little to do. the balves held the Tamar forwards rather easily, and also did good work in attacking. The outstand- ing forward was Lai Wai Tong who play- ed a good game all through, and kis gual, which probably was fortunate, was well deserved for his persistent efforts. Wong Pak Chong might have scored on bat
combic. although several occasions, ing well, did not play a great game, Shici Kam Shung was dangerous and sent in some good shots. The better of Ayni Chan Kwong the wingers WAN although the latter was not looked after so well as the other winge".
The Tumne defence came through very creditably. Wavish was very safe, and the two backs played well, Ball being the better tackler. Handford was the outstanding hall, he played a great game, all through, and completed a very good middle line. Nosworthy was the most dangerous of the Tamar forwards although Connor tried very hard. With this line improved the Tamar should be
very strong team this season. South China Lat Hing Cheung Lai Yuk Tat and Chan So; Leung Yuk Tong, Wong Shui Wa and Lam Yuk Ying; Pang Kam Wing, Sbei Kam Shung, Wong Pak Chung, Lai Wai Tong and Chan Kwong
