Syme has had a remarkable history. He began ble as a law clerk in Scotland, subsequently coming to England an joining the Metropolitan Police Force... After serving a period of two years, Juring which time he proved an efficient officer, he obtained a transfer to the executive, branch of the Commissioner's Office at Scotland Yard, crentually being posted to Gerald-road Police Station as an inspector.
