FUTURE OF STINNES INTERESTS.
· LEADERSHIP OF GERMAN INDUSTRY
-As regards the immediate future of the leadership of German industry (writes The Observer's Berlin interests) the Siinnes concern is expected to carry on in its present form under Herr Stinnes's! eldest son He and his two brothers an reported to have squalle briliant basi ness heads, and they will be guided entirely at first by the righthand man of their father, Dr. Vogler in Dortmund. 1t is said that Herr Stintes always in- tended his huge concern, to stop in the family, and though he was of an extra- ordinarily enpuble judgment in selecting "good directors for his various depart“ meats, ho never allowed any one man to raise to any great independence Last Autumn Hart Minoux, regarded as the huest brain in his minediate pataùrayt,; broke away and set up independently. He will doubtless play a big role in in-"] dustrialism in the coming period. *
Herr Stans hold the principle that every new undertaking sound pay for itself within six months or theme of! starting and there were expectations that he would throw off many smaller branches of his giant interest during the coming year's struggle, ander what may Be highly adverse conditions' consequent upon reparatious payments.

The Ruhr, which is rich in magnates, is the object of much speculation as to the future. * VERTICAL ** INDUSTRY,
Those are wrong who believe that Stisnes's power as a very prince of in- dustry (only comparable to that of the great citizens who rose to dukedoms in the Middle Ages) begun with the period of the war. He bad realised very early in his career the possibilities of electricity when it was as new to the Ruhr as to other parts of Europe. His electrifien tion of works and mines was as much a work of art in its far-sightedness as his wonderful grip on the meaning of trans- port for industry and the prosperity of the industrialist. The very nerves of the Ruhr were controled by his hand.
His life's ideal the building up of a "vertical" industry, starting from a basic product found in the raw in his mines, his woods, or his pastures, lead- ing through all the various stages of pro duct and by-product to the most finely wrought instrument, a margarine factory or a newspaper-would have been realis ed in opposition of the tenets leading to a mere trust system, war or no war.
Industry will miss him badly-politics less. It was only as a money-giver that he was of use to the party machine: He was always an object of mistrust to his enemies, who feared egotistic motives. His friends kept his incorrigble direct- ness, hot to say uncouthness, of argu ment gladly in the background
FILMS IN COLOUE,
ENGLISH INVENTOR'S NEW METHOD.
Colour: Cinematography, according to most of the methods in use, requires to be specially projected. By means, how- ever, of a new invcation coloured filing. can be run through the ordinary standard projector, and it is also claimed that they cost little more, to make, than the ordi nary aims.
The new contrivance was invented by Mr. Claude Friese Greene, a son of the Inte MP: W. Friese-Greene, who was. the pioneer of the invention of the eine matograph in England. It is stated that, by means of the attachment of a rotating dise (to impress the necessary coloury.brations on the negative, film) coloured photographs can be taken by most ordinary makes of camera. Ex- posures can be made in a light much lend than bright sunlight, and thus photo- graphs can be taken in circumstances; where it would be impossible to take black! and white pictures. The printing of the films is done on nay ordinary standard machine the joining and repairing of the Glur is the mure as in black and white, and no alteration of say kind is needed in the projecting equipment at present

The Day of the Knight is Here!
IT IS THE
WILLYS KNIGHT
Simplest and most trouble-free type of motor ever invented.
It has the most distnctive and gracefully balanced body of any car
in the market.
1-The Willys-Knight car is the four cylinder motored car that makes the six
tinnecessary.
The Knight motor is steam principle. The valves are two cylindrical sloeven with rectangular slots or porta. which when they register with each other and the porta in the block allow the ingress and egress of the grass without obstruction. These wide open paisages, particularly on the exhanat, side, permit a more thorough cleaning of the Inant gases from the combustion chamber than any other type of motor, so that every ounce of energy available is nilized from, the explosive mixture, which gives us such tremendous power
-It has no valve to grind and no carbon to clean,
The combustion chamber is completely surrounded by water and an alloy piston noted for its groot hem. radiating qualities is used se neither the combustion chamber nor the head of the piston gets hot enough to baks the resides from the exposed gases to form carbon while there is still enough heat maintained to handis the explosive mixture effectively.
It is the only type of motor that improves with use,
While carbon can not form in the combustion chamber, still a certain amount of the residue from the bat gases works up behind the wide scaling ring in the cylinder head and, as this building in procesa obtaine, it kegne pashing this sealing ring more tightly against the inner sleeve until it completely seals the compression chamber developing more power with every mile the motor is drawn.
4-It is the only type of motor that wears in while other wears out.
All parts in the Willys Kaight car are embled, with wide clearance between each other and oil is forcat into these clearances undir heary prossure so that the entire assembly is lapping or wearing in on these heavy sins of ail instead of wearing cat.. In other words, every bearing in this motor is an oil bearing instead of a metal to mital bering which is necessary in the construction of a poppet valve motor in order to keep it quiet with subsequent quick wear and noise.
It has eliminated ooo händrad and slity two quick wearing parts necessary in the operation of a cylindered poppet raive moter." There are po hammering parts such as canis wiriking against push rods, puak rods aguinat valve stems, or valve beads mapping back into their seats through the medium of hesry springa, etés,
