COPENHAGEN, October 28th. Germany replies to President Wilson ar' follows:-

AUSTRIA-HUNGARY ACCEPTS ALL THE PRESIDENT'S VIEWS.

AMSTERDAM, October 29th. The Austrian reply to President Wil- accepts all the President's views cabled on October 19th and declares Aus tria's readiness, without awaiting the result of other negotiations, to negotiate peace and an immediate armistice on all the Austro-Hungarian fronts.

FULL TEXT OF THE AUSTRIAN. REPLY.

BASLE, October 25th.. The following is substantially the text The German, Government has taken of the Austrian reply to President cognizance of the answer of the President

The German Government now awaits proposals for an armistice, which shall be the Brst step toward a just peace, a the President has described it in his proclamations.

The reply is signed by Dr. Solf as the. Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.

GERMANY'S DESPERATE,

POSITION.

LowDor, October 28th. The newspapers, commenting on the German reply, state that it may be summed up in the opinion that the new Government is manoeuvring its position both at Home and abroad

It is felt that Dr. Solf, while profess ing the acceptance of President Wilson's terms, may be trying to lure the Allies into a statement of their armistice terms, which would then be used to goad the people to make a last effort to save the dwnasty.

It is generally felt, however, that the position of Germany must be desperate, when the Government was obliged to have given so much ground.

THE UNAVOIDABLE RESULT.

AMSTERDAM, October 28th.. The Forwaerts says that all Germany's Allies have capitulated or are capitulat ing. Germany will be finally obliged to tread the same path. A fight of despera tion for a few weeks or months will not alter the unavoidable result.

WANTED A GERMAN "REPUBLIC.

AMSTERDAM, October 28th. The Saxon, Cabinet has resigned. German Socialists, are becoming in- creasingly daring. The Independent Secialist Lister, who was recently re- leased from prison, speaking at Mubcb. denounced the Hindenburg "idol" and demanded the abdication of all Federal Princes.

He declared that the Germans were wading in a sea of lies,

He added that with a Republic, we would be smoking the pipe of peace with Mr. Lloyd George and President Wilson within 24 hours

Consequently. as the President makes an entry into nego accepts all the conditions upon which, tiations regarding an armistice and peace dependent, nothing now stands in the way in the opinion of the Austro Hungarian Government, of the com- mencement of paur, parlers.

declares itself in consequence prepared, The Austro-Hungarian Government without awaiting the result of other negotiations. to enter into pr parlers regarding peace between Austria-Hun gary and the State of the opposing party, and regarding an immediate armistice on all fronts of Austria Hun- gary.

It begs President Wilson to make over- tures of this subíbect,

AUSTRIA'S DAY OF PEACE APPROACHING.

AMSTERDAM, October 28th. Emperor Karl, in an Order. to the Army and Navy, argently appeals to their loyalty, during the present grave confusion. He says the day of peace is approaching.

In this connection, it is reported that THE HOUSE OF COMMONS. the departure of Emperor Kael for Hangary for a considerable period ja significant

He declared that if the Government would not act, he would act himself ALLIES WAITING FOR GERMANY'S REPLY.

LONDON, October 17th. Reiter has been informed that the Allies will not pahlish Armistice, terma until Germany has replied to the fast Note from President Wilson.

The resignation of General Ludendorff was more in, the nature of a dismissal, General Ludendorff having practically no choice.
