We continue to pursue the Turks on both banks of the Tigris and have forced passage of the Lesser Zab near the mouth; Fin-conjunction"; with cavaliy, which, after crowing further upstream, turned the left flank of the Turkish force holding the angle of the two rivers, and assisted the main body to drive the enemy across the Tigris to the west bank.

The enemy retreated four miles further! up to the river.

The Singapore Municipality has been forced to take the outbreak very seriously, and has issued the following circular:-

It is highly infections and is usually conveyed by the persons affected coughing and spitting. The risk of infection is, there- fore, very high in a confined space, sucâ "as an over-crowded room, a theatre, a cinema show, and any place of public entertainment, also in such places as markets, courts, tramcars, etc.. Persons suffering from the 'disease should, as far as possible, keep themselves isolated, and should at once undergo proper treatment,. otherwise fatal results may ensus. Occupiers. of premises, especially those which, accommodate a large number of persons, should disinfect the floors daily. The floors should be sprayed with some disinfecting solu

lution, such as Jeyes fluid. Laal, Lysol, etc. The solution should not be swept away,

bat should be allowed to dry on the floor. If the occupier of any rises in which a case occurs will in- form the Municipal Health Officer, steps will be taken to disinfect

premises.
