Bazentir-le-Grand is two miles cast of Longueval, while Bazentin-le-Petits capitived, is a mile further north and netrer Bapaume.

The German position at Pozicres, a mile and a half north of Contalmaison, is most critical owing to our recent suc cesses. Pozieres les athwart the main road from Albert to Bapaume..
