The only Shanghai nowspaper which contains & report of the Langkat meeting held on March 31st is the China Press, from which we reproduce the following:
The 11th annual meeting of shareholders of the Maatschappij tot Mijn-Bosch on Landbouwexploitatie in Langkat was held yesterday afternoon at the Chamber of Commerce Roomes. In referring to the loan and invest ment account, on which there had been such a beavy loss, the chairman explained that this was largely due to their rubber shares These, however, had now been written down to their lowest level, render- ing it unlikely that there would be further material loss. The income on the amount invested was 7 per cent.
In regard to rubber, the chairman said that next year capital and revenue expenditure would be separated in the accounts. The estimated output for the current year is 160,000 lbs., and it was believed that the cost of production would be very much lower.
