The ochi publishes a message from Yokosuka to the effect that a Japanese officer, residing at Yokosuka, in concert with some wealthy persons in Yokohama, has been discovered trying to sell to a certain American the particulars of a special kind of gun, the sum mentioned as the price of the invention being 780,000 yen. The matter was discovered a few days ago, and the Yokosuka Gendarmerie are now investigating the. affair A sergeant of gendarmerie on in-Tuesday came to Yokohama in connection with the matter. It is thought that many persons will shortly be arrested in Yokosuka and Yokohama, in connection with the disclosure.
