A good start. Passing the stand the leaders were Donald Dhu, Larkspur and Puckrow. The field bunched, all hard held, and at the mile and three-quarter post Quickstep assumed the lead from Notwithstanding the dull weather yes. Donald Dhú, Greylag being third. The course had improved somewhat from the previous day, and the running was quite good, though nothing approaching record timen were made. As showing how "straight" the jockeys run, it may be mentioned that Mr. John; stone drow Head or Tail in the "sweep," but novertheless rodo Pershore to victory is the second race of the day.
