To HM THE KING,
A commendable feature about Lemco is its marvellous "keeping properties." Even in the tropics opened jars keep absolutely fresh and pure. This phenomenon is not due to pre servatives, but to beef purity and perfect concentration. Food reliability reaches its top- most point in Lemco. Replace the cork to keep out dust.

SYNOPSIS OF INSTALMENTS I-VI- Geoffrey Lovett is selected as one of the Australian Cricket Eleven to play against England. He is quite a failure at the beginning of the tour, but after severe traling makes a fine exhibition. ON MOORFIELD COURSE.
Luke had a surly disposition. He knew Jacob Dainty was hinting at something, and
resented it.
"What are you driving at?" he growled. "Nothing in particular; but I'm going to watch this race closely," said Jacob as he walked away.
Luke scowled after him, but he knew the value of the filnt, and seemed worried. Louis Banni passed him, and said:
All right, Luke?"
"He's got to win, Lou; so you'd better the jockey.
Your told me he couldn't win with his weight.
"Hes' got to win, Lou! so you'd better do as I tell you. Jacob's got his eye on Hi,**
Bannf consigned Jacob to the infernal regions and hurried away.
In a few minutes a complete change came over the betting. Kogarah's price speedily went to four to one, then, three. As Jach heard the short odds called, he smiled.
"I got your two hundred on at eight to one," he said to Dick Tomlinson.
You generally have the cream of the market," said Dick.
Jacob did not tell him what he had said to Luke, but he knew his warning had due effect.
Ten rusters turned out, and Kogaralt was a hot favourite. Tom could not understand why he had eight to one and others only had three's and two's, He was puzzling it out when the barrier was raised and they were off.
Mab was standing with Mrs. Kirkton on the stand. Not far below, on the slope of the lawn, were Louis Bannf and some of his friends.
"Rotten price I got," said one.
"Can't be helped," said Banni, "I found out Luke was a trier, it's lucky for you.**
Tom watched the race eagerly, so did Mab. The green and yellow took a pro- There were races at Moorfield on the minent place as they came into the straight. Susic was not much inclined to go out much at present.
"I think he will," said Geoff, who stood close behind them.
Kogarali came out at the distance, Loke sitting still on him. It was a one horse race; the favourite won by four lengths
"One of Dick's real good things," said Geoff, smiling

He seemed to go better with Geoff on his back that anyone, and he had ridden him several good gallops on the private track at the Oaks. Topper had a great furn of speed, but a mile was as far as he cared to go. He was in the race at Moorheld with To stone, the bottom weight being 8 stone

Geoff thought he had a capital chance of 1098.38 winning, and intended backing him.
Why not put Billy Williams up him?" said Edgar.

You want them to see you ride?" said Edgar.
Tu sec me win," Inughed Geoff. The drive to Moorfield proved enjoyable, Tom was in high glee; this was his first rage meeting. He asked all sorts of questions. and was quite excited when he learned his hero was to ride.

"I have won several eight pounds," said Geoff.
Louis Banaf turned round, and as he did so he caught sight first of fab, then of Tom. "What's up; Lou? You backed it, didn't you?" asked his friend.
"Yes," he said, still staring at Mab. "See someone you know?
"I thought I did," said Bannf, "but I'm mistaken." With this he hurried away.
Something's gone wrong with him," thought the man."
Louis Baniaf went across the paddock, passed out at the entrance gate, and walked rapidly, to the station.
The man in charge saw him, and muttered, Off home! Cute fellow, Barnf! He's had a win and don't mean to lose it."

Kirkton.
"In March, about the twenty-fourth, said Geoff.
***Probably we shall," she replied; and Mab was glad to hear it.
The racing interested them. In the Moor- held Handicap Geoff had been told by the owner to back Kogarah, as it had a good chance. Mrs. Kirkton gave him three severcigns to put on, one each for Mab and Tom. As the price was eight to one, they were quite in a fever of excitement about it. Tom was ansious to know if he would really get eight pounds if Kogarah won, and when Geoff said he would, he felt elated.
"I have never had so much money before," he said.
"You have not won it yet," laughed Geoff
But your friend the owner said we would
Sometimes owners are mistaken," said Geoff, smiling.
But they ought not to be," protested Tom. "What's the use of owning a horse if you don't know when he can win?!
If we could all make certain of winning with our horses, I am afraid the bookmakers would have a bad time," said Geoff.
Louis Bant was a frequenter of race courses, He had an interest in one or two books, and occasionally backed horses for large sums. The racing authorities regarded him with suspicion. He was accused of hay ing tampered with jockeys, and of being in the confidence of one or two trainers, when supposed good things had not come off. He was at Moorfield, and knew as much about the chance of Kogarah as Geoff Lovett, probably more.

Nervous Breakdown, Paralysis-
The master force which conquered the most perilous afflictions and enabled him to endure amazing hardships, says Captain Henderson, is derived entirely from Phosferint. Exposed by his adventurous life to an extraordinary series of misfortunes, from being disabled in action, to sunstroke, enteric fever, and paralysis of the legs, this gallant officer was yet able, firely owing to the aid of Phosferine, to leave the hospital and fight through to the end of the Boer War! Under blows which make. men reel and fail, Captain Henderson was so uplied by the vitalicing and bracing qualities of Phosferine, that actually on his return home he was robust and vigorous enough to win four military prizes in one day, including the famous Victoria Cross Cupf
Cured with Signal Success.
Captain D. E. Henderson, 1, Marmo Avenue, Clontarf, Dublin, writes: "Euring the late Boer War, I had a sovere shock from lightning, and an injury to the spine through my horse being killed in action and rolling on top of me. In India, some years previously, Flad an attack of sun- stroko, and was five months in hospital with Enteric lever. These troubles told upon me, and ultimately resulted in a complete nervous breakdown when in Pretoria. I was admitted to hospital when I had lost the use of my legs. I was treated for neuritis and sent out only partly cured, and then started taking Phosferine systematically and regularly. The benefit I received was marvellous; in two months time I was back in the field and fought right through until the end of the war. Owing to a great financial loss, which preyed on my mind, I had a second break- down, and the doctor told me that I would probably be paralysed for life. I thought again of Phosferine, and after using it about three weeks my strength gradually returned and the frightful depression and weakness left me. The proof of which is that, in the railitary sports, I won four prizes ies··· one day, including the Victoria Cross cap."-July 14, 1911.
