The preparation which sets like a charm in improving the quality of the blood is Sanatogou, na zaodern research has shown. This tonic food, which is the most revitalising preparation known to Sulence, stimulates the blood-making organs to their utmost. The result is that the red car puscles are made in great numbers and the vit- al iron is rapidly restored to them. This has boon strikingly shown in innumerable cases.

The General Practitioner, May 20th, 1905, reports this case: "A girl, aged 17, with 3,900,000 red blood corpuscles per cabic centi- metre, after threo weeks was of Eanatogen, showed an increase of 300,000 red corpuscles per cubic centimetre."

Dr. Ferchmin, Private Physician to the Czar of Russia, writes: My daughter, who was vory nervous and answic, bas boon greatly bansfited by the prolonged use of Saratogen.

LONDON'S FUTURE WATER SUPPLY

Ona of the most important of the "Private Bills recently deposited for consideration in the first session of the new Parliament is one promoted by the Metropolitan Water Board for the provision of additional water supply in fu- ture years. The average daily supply of water in the year ending March, 1909, was 224 million gallons, and it was estimated that if the same rate of increase in population were maintained the number of gallons required daily in 1916 would be 281 millions, in 1931 358 millions, and in 1960 570 millions. The scheine adopted by the Board and given effect to in the construc tion from time to time of storage reservoirs to meet the increasing demands for water in such away that if the population does not grow so rapidly as has been contemplated the extensions may be from time to time deferred. There are to be five reservoirs having a total capacity of 20,900 million gallons, and suficient to ensure dating a drought as severe as that which occurred in the year 1898-9 and 1901-2 a supply of 35 gallons per hood per day for.a population of 12 millions The first reservoir is intended to meet the probable requirements until the year 1924, the second until 1931, the third until 1934, and the final two until 1941, The proposed raservoirs will be situate in the Thames Valley near Staines. The total cost of the whole scheme is estimated at £6,273,710, of which over two millions will be required in the next 10 years. The Boord have been satisfied- by their scientific advisors that the storage of water for a sufficient length of time renders it quite pure, and its safety after filtration is therefore sured,
