On Saturday the 25th April it was blowing a fresh breeze from the Santh East bat the lug gers wora able to carry on their diving opera tions without discomfort. On Saturday after noon after knoak off, the luggers, as is the custom, anchored in groups' round their respective schooners, and put their dingies out so as they could visit the schoonera and boats and see their friends. Saturday night passed without a lull is the wind and on Sunday morning early it was still blowing frosh and from the same direction. The wind up to this tinas was quite, ordinary and aonable and the Barometer gave no indication of an ne- balanced or disturbed atmosphere. At 1 pm on the 26th the wind, freshened, considerililj and several schooners, hoisted their flags which mout a warning to their boats to prepare for something, possibly a blow. The Barometer at this time started to falt rapidly so the wind to increase, atill blowing from the South East. From this be the wind gradually in greased in forve outil i am on Monday the 27th, blowing-sometimes from the S. E. and sometimes from the Eastward From 1 a.. till 2 nm on the 27th it lulled considerably.
