SHIPBUILDING AT MANILA, The largest vessel over built in the Philippine Islands was launched on the 27th ult. from the yards of the San Nicholas Iron Works into the Pasig River before a large concourse of people, among whom were Governor Taft and the members of the Philippine Commission who are. at present in Manila. The name of the new resoul is J. Rodriguez, the same being the name of the builder who bears the distinction of being the pioneer shipbuilder of the Philippine Islands, Miss Holon Taft, the 12-years-old daughter of the Governor, broke the bottle ofer the bow and christened the vessel.
