The Exhibition is like whatever the visitor wishes to masider it; it may be an illustrated of samples with numbers and Lawes, to those

With the exception of one abortive attempt to, recivo them in the middle of the eighteenth century, Lancers disappeared from the French Army until the Napoleonic wara. The Austring had followed his example, aud had established three regiments of "Uhlans," 65 they were called. After the partition of Poland, in 1807, many Poles entered the French service, and a body of Polish Light Horses was formed, which Napoleon two years later converted into Lancers. They formed part of the Imperial Guard, and showed splendid devotion to ther master on occasion. In 1819 Napoleon created a second Lancer regiment out of part of the Royal Dutch Guard, and they were known as the "Scarlet Lancers". This method, of arazing cavalry proyed so, serviceable that in 1811 Napoleon ersated more Lancer regimente, and attached one to each division of Cuirassients:
