SHIPPING REPORTS.
The British steamer Taiyuan, from Sydney 19th ult, had moderate to light winds until approaching Philippine Islands, where strong encountered. winds and heavy rains woro Manila to Hongkong moderate N.E. gale and high seal until within 100 miles of port.

The British steamer Eastern, from Adelaide 8th October, experienced a fine passage with light to moderate variable winds, having very hot weather from Fort Darwin to After leaving Manila had heavy rain squalls and thick weather with moderate SW. wind and heary N.E. well for the first 24 hours, then the wind anddenly hauled to N.E. will the barometer at 29.70 inches (lowest read. ing), having fallen half one-tenth in half an hour; it then rose steadily with the same over cast squally weather till arrival.
