He has slanitied to me the formulas of some of his preparations for examination, giving fall érpilanation ad to the medical qualities, of the ingredient. I have found the Tung Kwan San or Army Medical Powder and the Tit Tn San or Falling and Bruising Medical Powder_com- posed of Mnak, Barovs, Camphor, Rhubarb, two linde of gum, with rol oxide of mercury and yellow aulphide of arsenic, animal and vegetable charopal, which are known in western playmsey. Beides this it contains gold leaf, tigers and dra- gous bones, shavings of untelope and rhinoceros horns, which I have shown him that chemical science proves to be inert, he proposes to omit from the melicise prepared for foreign 168,

• The medicine is to be chiefly used as 'n ster. Butatory, as is put up in small metal bottles by which is can be injected into the nostrils..

The small nomit of oxide of mercury and sulphide of arsenie will not be dangerous used in this way.

The nature of the oil in fery mild, but its nction is exceedingly good, possessing won- derfully curative effects in both internal and external diseases. As it is an invaluable medi cine it should be kept on hand ready for use by all persons, whether at home or abroad.

DIRECTIONS.

For external use rub the oil on the temples, forehead, between the oyebrows, back of the are and neck, on the chest and back, on-the abdomen or wherever the pain or soreness i seated. It must be rubbed on for 5 minutes. For toothache put a little, in the tooth on autton and rub on the gums. The oil has beneficial effects in headache, fainting, cold, sore throat, stounch-wole, colio pains, rheumatism, numb ness of the limbs, pain in the luck, gramp, NE-A special charge is made for lines of local swelling and inflamastions, influenza, diarrhoea, toothache, pains in the head and con- valúons after childbirth, prickly heat, boils, and mosquito bites..
