MISCELLANEOUS. There are buyers of Seam Laundries at $54. Dairy Farms at $19. China Provid-nts at $91, and Electrics at $164. Cements are obtainable at $101. China Borneos at $1 Ropes at $24 after sales at the rate, and Watsons at $94.

HONGKONG, 24th July, 1908.-Business generally still continues dull, and beyond a fur- ther advance in Banks we have little of interest to report. Bar silver during the interval has weakened, and is now quoted at 24,4d, with ex- change on London at 1/9) T. T., and on Shang- hai at 744 T. T.
BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais after further sales at $750, advanced rapidly to $760, 8765, and at the close to $775 at which a sale is now reported. London is firmer again with buyers of London register shares at £80.10.0d. the equivalent of 8898 per share at present ex- .change. Nationals are unchanged with buyers at $51.
MARINE INSURANCHS, No business has transpired in this section, and the only change we have to report is a decline in Cantons to $220 sellers. There are buyers of North Chinas at Tls. 77.
FIRE INSURANCES.-Chinas have been book- ed at $904, and are in further request. are sellers of Hongkongs at $315.

SHIPPING.-Hongkong. Canton and Macaos are obtainable at $29 after sales at the rate. Indos are still on offer, the Preferred shares at $86 ex the dividend of 6 per cent. 68. share, for 1907, at exchange 1s. 91d.$3.154 paid in Hongkong to-day, and the Deferred at $21. China and Manilas and Douglases are unchang- ed and without business, Star Ferris (vld) can be placed at the improved rate of $26, bu the new issue is still to be had at $15. Shells are quoted at 453. cam the dividend of 28., er share (final o 18., conpon No. 10, for 1997), ad interim of le, per share, on account of 1908, paid in Loudon ou the 1st July.

DOCKS, WHARVES AND GODOWNS -Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks are firm at $103. Hongkrag and Kowloon Wharves have been done at $474 and close steady.
