An English Observer Writes Of The Discord In Scottish Football Circles

By W. CAPEL KIRBY

"Sack the Selectors" is a common enough cry in Scotland now that the World Cup qualifying prospects have been menaced by the sad happenings in Madrid, but while it is easy enough to call for heads let us consider the tales.

We have heard plenty of tales, some fantastic, others pathetically, petty, and yet, taking the impartial view of an Englishman, I agree with the extremists that there should be an immediate and thorough investigation into the causes of 'discord which split the SPA officials and later spread to the players on their tour yof Switzerland, West Germany and Spain.
