THE strangest boxing tip in the history of the fight game has been shown 10 the Royal Academy by Mr Harry Braithwaite, 57-year-old labourer-artist of Burton- on-Trent. He has paint- ed a picture of world heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano trying to rise after being knocked down by Bri tain's Don Cockell The ught takes place at San Francisco in May. Mr Braithwaite, an ex-boxér, honestly believes Cockelt will win. (Express)

CLAIMING to have cycled 295,000 miles since 1932, James Frederick "Paddy" Irwin paddled into London, last week at the end of his latest jaunt, during which he crossed the Sahara Desert and most of the African contingent down through Kenya to Northern Rhodesia, Dublin-born Paddy, aged 42, stopped to do odd jobs here and there.
