TO BE FIT FOR CYCLING FIRST ATTAIN ALL-ROUND FITNESS
Says “N*TACA”
CARMY SPORTS A
PARADE
Perhaps no subject in the world of cycling has invoked more controversy than the vexed question of training methods. The two extreme schools of thought can be recognised as the old idea that "Cycling is the only Training for Cycling," and the modern concept which necessitates a rider being a dietician, physiologist and expert in "Bio-air and proper time to award the spot of honour to all Rhythmics," as well as a pusher of pedals. My own taste, based on my own and others' experience, is eclectic and can be summed up in the phrase. "To be fit for Cycling, first attain ALL-ROUND Fitness.”"
The prime requisite for particular ised cycling liness is complete organic fitness, the perfect functioning of the bodily mechanism which is best achieved by a long and thorough tuning-up process, known to the initiated as “getting the miles in."
