INVASION MUSEUM
Model Of D-Day Landings
Britain's main contribution to exhibits ut the Arromanches, Normandy, Museum, to be opened next month to com- memorate the freeing of France, will be "Germana view" model of the D-Day landings.
It shows the beach scene 90 minutes after the landings, and has been made, at the request of the Ministry of Supply," by 63-year-old Mr Denny Stokes, of Ealing, ant! a friend, Mr John Greenwood, of Horse Hay, Shropshire.
A special five-day ́vilt wor mado to the beaches to get the feel of the place. Mem bers of committees
connected with the museum, and repre
sentatives of the three Servlets, visited Mr Stokes' workroom to give help and advice. The motiel cost £500.
Wood, plastle, paper and linoleum havo been shaped in- to tanks, houses and trees. With Green four, girl workers, Mr
wood constructed

metal figures an inch high of Ser vicemen. Each look more than six hours to paint.
Mr Stokes, an Army ofeek In the 1914-10 war and Squadron-leaffer In the 1939-45 war, said: "I have been mäle- ing models, in 'collaboration with Mr Greenwood for nearly 20 years, first as a hobby now ax Job, I enjoyed making th particular modol more than anys thing 'cise I have done,” MAR
