Authoritative sources said today that high American officials were resigned to the possibility of a long stalemate in the Korean truce negotia- tions.
They still hope that the Chinese and Korean Reds will accept the last United Nations proposals for prisoner repatriation but have no real belief that the Communists will do so.

Sixteen political parties complied with the law. passed by the Prime Minister, General Mohammed Naguib, before tonight's deadline and registered. themselves as willing to reorganise and cut out corruption in their ranks, political sources said.
The applications for reorganisation under. General Naguib's new campaign to weed out cor- ruption in Egyptian political circles will be studied today by the Vice-Premier and Interior Minister, Soliman Hafez, who is entitled under the law to repudiate any Party programme or membership.
If Hafez raises an objection
to any Party the case goes to the State Council, the highest fudicial body in Egypt, for a final ruling. Otherwise the parties are entitled to consider themselves approved a month from Friday.
The Party law was enacted on September 7, within a few days of General Naguib's taking över the premiership from the former Premier, Aly Maher.
Excluded from Party member- ship are all persons known to bo corrupt or held under the slightest suspicion. These
