Why we say A cynosure of all eyes.

A cynosure is a centre of attraction. The word comes fram the Greek kynox-oura, which means "The Dog's Trail" another name of the constellation of the Lesser Bear, which contains the North Star. All constellations swing round the North Star which is therefore the centre of attraction.

Indo-China Now A Top Priority In American Aid Plan

Mexico City, Sept. 5.

International Monetary Fund officials said to day that the $500,000,000 American aid to France to be requested in the next budget would give top priority to the Indo-China, war and other French military costs.

The loan, which Fund delegates on Wednesday revealed had already been settled by negotiators for the two Governments, would be the “absolute minimum" of what Congress would be asked to provide France when all forms of United States Government spending and assistance in France were taken into account.
