The sun never acts on Empire athletics. The. British season coming to an end and Malaya's is over. Ceylon's is just getting into full swing and in October the South African and Australian and the Hongkong seasons start.

The British season will extend into the first weeks of November, but few new outstanding marks can be looked forward to as most of the Champlons have hung up their spiked shoes to next year.
It is the time of year to take stock of Empire athletics. The standard has gone up exceptionally high in the past year in the distance runs and the hurdling events. The also-rans are waking up.
