What Is Wrong With
With TRAINING FOR THE GAMES Oxford Rowing?
Asks EDGAR TOMLIN
In a few weeks' time, on March 29, the Boat Race will be with us again. Those of us who make a study of rowing at Oxford and Cambridge are convinced that the result of this race profoundly influences the fortunes of the sport at each 'University for the rest of the season,
Cambridge is now in high esteem, The magnificent crew with which she won the Boat Race last year, its victorious tour in the United States, and the achievements of her college crews at Henley last summer all emphasise, perhaps unduly, the virtual eclipse of Oxford as a powerful factor in the rowing world to- day.
