A tall and well-built Austrian youth of 23 became almost a house- hold word in Britain's football homes last week. He was Erpet Oowirk, controversial centre-half in the highly-rated team that was somewhat sur- prisingly held to a draw by the French in Paris.
Oewirk is something of a football problem, a centre-half who plays almost man with a “5” on anywhere except in the place where one would expect to find a his back in English football.
