Their Challenge For
The

London, July 24. Yorkshire, by a decisive victory today over Nottinghamshire, strengthened their challenge for English County Cricket Championship honours.

WOMEN'S CRICKET TEST WILL ATTRACT 10,000 TO THE OVAL
Says ARCHIE QUICK
Not until now, the middle of July, have I plucked up courage to watch women playing cricket. I wish had gone before. I was resentful of this further invasion by ladies upon the realms of the stronger sex. How wrong I was!
I saw the Australian touring side play the Middlesex Indies at Ealing, and could not have wished for a more entertaining day-or a more surprising one. The quality of the batting, the speed and variety of the bowling, the excellence of the fielding were all surprising.
