Nobody knows better than I do the element of luck which enters into a list of Horses to Follow. I regard it more or less as a popular pastime which can give the occasional backer a small interest which will inst him throughout the season. There is always the chance of a big dividend now and again.

When that happens I shall probably be chided for not tipping the winner. My opinion on such races' will be based on recent form and no doubt the "one to follow would not fit the bill at that time.

Anyone who follows my dozen should do so until the end of the season.

I can vouch for the well- being of them all, at least so far as the present is concerned, I have compiled the list on a grading scale of class and dis- tance to reduce the chance of them clashing.

I do not think that will hop- pen as the 12 Include sprin- tera, middle distance handicap performers, stayers, top class and second class three-year- olds.
