By "GRANDSTAND”

While the Senior Leaguers are still grappling for playoff berths, the Black- hawks and Dragons, leaders in the Blue and Gold sections of the minor Joop, tangle on Sunday at 12.30 p.m. to inaugurate the title series.

CHAMPIONSHIP

By. “OBSERVER”

The Colony Snooker Championship League has been won by the Club Lusitano by virtue of the fact that they had won more matches than Eastorn Athletic Association although both teams finished the season having won and lost an identical number of frames.

The ultimate destination of The Ruttonjce Shield was held in suspense until the last match, due to the fact that the two leading clubs were in a position to benefit by any error which might have been made by the other.

1951 has been, a very successful season and it ia hoped that this tournament will receive even greater sup- port when the shield is again contested for during the season 1951-1952.

Outstanding players in this year's competition were:-

Pong Pui of Eastern Athletic, who Incidentally

the made highest break of the season with en effort of 40,

A P. Paveira of the Club Lusitano, undoubtedly the most entertaining player to watch in the Colony today, possesses an extensive knowledge of the game and wherever he has played a large audience has gathered to watch him

L. Naylon of the KCC is also on exceptionally fine player and would be beneficial to many of the Colony's younger players they could see him in action more often.

Other exponents of spooker who

have shown surprisingly good form this year are RQMS Thomson & S/Sgt. Taylor both of HQLF Sgts Mess, "Sonny" Medina and A. M. Ozorla of the Club Lusitano.
