IN STRONG POSITION
London, June 27.
The West Indies, in their sacond innings at Lords today, lost four wickets for 147 runs at lunch. The shocks to England yesterday following so closely on the victory at Manchester have made the current Test against the West Indies one of the most gripping since the war. West Indies entered on the third, day in an over- whelmingly strong position, all wickets intact, a lead of 220 runs and three days to play.

Frank Sedgman may not be able to complete
the tournament
Wimbledon, June 26. The tragedy of this year's Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships, the most open for many years, may be the inability of the young Aus- tralian, Frank Sedgman, who is seeded No.. 1, to complete the tournament in which ho is the favourite to win the men's singlas.
