Spectators were given fuli value for their money, as the gume, which was played at a cracking pace throughout, pro- vided plenty of thrills and ex- cilement.

Army trounce

(By "GRANDSTAND")

With the exception of only a few postponed games in the Inter-Hong and Midget Leagues, the Softball Association's official fixtures con- clude this week, as the four. Sentor League teams wind up the play-off series. Never before in the history of local softball has competition been so close that the champion- ship is still uncertain with the concluding week looming ahead.

The league position is such that every one of the four

pennant contenders stand a mathematical chance of secur- ing the flag.

In order that the programme may be completed before the Pre- sentation Bail next Saturday, both the Braves and St. Joseph's will be engaged in double-headers.
