KOREANS TRIUMPH AGAIN; BRAVES--SAINTS CLASH KCC team

BEAT COMBINED CHINESE 3-1

The visiting Korean soccorites once again proved their superiority when they boat a Combined Chinese XI of Happy Valley yesterday by three goals to one,

The game was full of interest and despite the sud- den heavy April showers, a capacity crowd was present to see the match.

The rain-sodden ground was not conducive to fust play and the heavy, slippery bull caus- ed more than one player Iniskick from time to time.

Play was very even throughout the whole of the match. What the visitors incked in pollsh was more than made up for by their spleed and understanding.

They neked the neat approach- ing methods of the locul Chinese

team, but whenever they were in possession of the ball, they were dangerous, as they stized every opportunity to send in a shot at goal.

Pick of the viatore was Lee Si-dong, their right back.. His alerting defensive play repeat- edly held the fort when the local Chinese forwards were en

Great opportunist

Another player worthy of men- tion is Kim Yong-sik, the inside- left. He was a great opportunis! and it was from his head that thre Korean's second goal was scored. Chang Kyung-whan, the Ko- rean's

About 10 minutes after the start of the second half, Fung. Kwan- shing, the Combined Chinese left- hall received an injury. He left the field for treatment but soon returned to the game. However, he was little more than a passen- ger and practically never touched the ball again.

WASHED OUT BY RAIN

(By "GRANDSTAND")

Only one Softboll Senior League play-off game was completed yesterday, the Jaguars nosing out the Americans 10-9 aftor' eight innings of play, when Lino Marques singled to right to drive in the winning' tally.

Five minutes of rain which drenched spectators

and players during the third inning of the Braves Saints clash, rendered the ground unsuitable for play, and the tussle was called off by Umpire Buster. Hollands.
