"Incentive" System Keeps RAF Men On Their Toes
The Royal Air Force has adopted the "incentive" system in a three-pronged attack to maintain the effectiveness and efficiency of the Air Force at Kai Tak.
An official spokesman for the RAF said yesterday that this system, applicable to the RAF gen- erally, has been gradually developed since 1947, and that the change was revolution- ary in its effect.
He added: "Now, on an RAF airfield, it is nothing unusual to see a young chap sitting for his leaving certificate to enter Lendon University, another checking out a book on the Theory of Dynamics from the base library, and, a few build- ings away, secing a meeting of officers and men discussing how the food in the mess could be improved.”
A short time
ago, the RAF issued an order that all г motions within the ranks must first be accompanied by the applicant's successfully passing a prescribed written examination. covering the applicant's specialty.
