SOCCER SEASON OPENS;
RAF CAUSE SURPRISE
(By "ROVER"}
The curtain went up on the 1949/1950 soccer season yesterday, when five games in the Second Division of the Hong Kong Football League were played.
The opening games in the First Division of the Leogue will not be played until Saturday, Cetobea by and-as-a-result--certain Clubs. which were evidently anxious to start the season well by garnering two points, fielded First Division players.
While this is permissible under the Rules of the Hong Kong Football Association as they now stand, there can be no denying the fact that those Clubs which took advantage of the situation definitely showed a poor sense of sports- manship.

Jap Bowlers Ousted From A Seattle League
Seattle, September 27.
A bowling team of American- born Japanese players was today ousted from a Seattle League by
order of the American Bowling Congress, which insisted on an enforcement of its racial ban.
The order from the Congress" Executive Office in Chicago said: "American Bowling Congress membership is available only to white males. A League which per- mits this unauthorised practice runs into the risk of inviting pro- blems which cannot be satisfac- torily adjusted."
