The first United Nation-sponsored conference of scientists, technicians and resource experts mot at Lake Success with Dr. S. S. Bhatnagar, noted Indian scientist, as Chairman of the first plenary session.
The object of the conference is to take stock of the resources of the world and to marshal them for the maximum benefit of its peoples especially in under-developed countries.
