SAIGON OARSMEN'S DEBUT IN COLONY

Today will be a red-letter day in the annals of the

Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club when, for the first time in the rowing history of the Colony, a Saigon team will be taking part in the Club's Whitsun Regatta.

A

The Regatta is being held at Middle Island, com- mencing of 3 p.m. and the day' is expected to be a full and eventful one, climaxed with a barbecue for members and their friends at Middle Island on completion, of the sailing events.

Unfortunately, a number of Clubs and their boals were dam- nged during the hostiles and this is the first occasion since the Hong Kong has been war that visited by Interport rowing team

Rowing enthusiasts in Saigon, Shanghai, Manila and Hong Kong are anxious to see a revival of Interport rowing series and it is hoped that in the future, teams from Shangbat and Manlia WBI compete regularly with those f Salgon and Hong Kong.

The Interport events are a pair and a four, but there will be a special four race between the Stanley Prison Offers Clubs and the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club Junior four, as well as an inter- Hong pair and scratch four events.
