TEEN AGE TOPICS
Hello There
It doesn't seem like it, but more than half of our vacation lå over. In less than a month many of us will be back in school. Our pleasant days on the beach will be only a memory You go to school nine months out every year, so, you would be
if you liked it. The people better off if you
much that like are the ones that get the best marks. If you fall in everything. you become fed up with school very BOOD. Then you have months of un happiness. It fen't worth it. You have to
make the best of itschool, so why not
If
you are near the bottom of your class, you will have a steep climb to get to the top. It will take more than work, it will take time too. Many of u can work hard, but we can't work hard avery day. But that is what you have to do. That is why so many people at the bottom of the class stay there.
hope you aren't one of them. It's up to you whether you are. Your life is your own, you can do what you with it. All anyone else can do
• suggest: you know what you to do, and only you can do it. TEËN AGE TOPICS EDITOR
SIGNALLING
You
can go through life quito happily without ever knowing the In- ternational Morse Code. It's fun, though, if you do know it.
- When you're good at it, you can read the messages between ships in the harbour. You hear morse over the short wave radio all the time, and there are many jobs that require its knowledge.
It isn't hard to learn, if you know the short cut. You can follow the five day plan even if you have a job or are busy doing something all day. You can stort it right now, and by Sunday morning you will know the International Morse Code.
Sounds simple doesn't it? Well it is. Just five minutes each morning and evening, every day for five days and you have it. Don't put it off until next week, or say that you 'haven't enough time. You have at least 10 minutes spare each day.
Don't forget that this is lazy 'man's plan. If you are really keen, you can learn it in one or two days. Notice that No. 2 and 3, are related. The only ones that aren't related to something else are the last three. So don't put it off, "start, right now, and learn it.

Do you mean that only Europeans should write to Teen Age Toples? You say to mention "where you are from," and one of your readers' letters does the same. I wish you would add few lines telling your readers whether. they are all welcome, or otherwise.
Your idea of a "Men of Distinction” but why not also a "Women of Distinction" section?
You were quite right about the latest cut, the new short hair-do. Last in the wind-blown mode, and find it Sunday had my hair cut and permed
really comfortable, as I don't have to bother about long hair,, with its knots and tassels.

Editor's Note: Thanks for plain speaking. Wanda. This is a page for all teenagers, no matter who they are. The reason toe, asked where you are from is because it snakes a difference to your opinions. You don't have to tell us anything about yourself if you don't want to it just makes it more interesting you do.

I suggest we have a designing con- teat. Let's call the model Joy, or any other name, and say she's going' on plenic or party next week, and the readers will design her dress. What do you think?
MILDRED.
Editor's Note: A good idea, but to make
it better, why not a fashion club? We could meet once a week, decide on the subject, and vote on it. If you are interested. send in your name and address. If enough girls write in for boys too) we'll start the club. If not, it's still a good idea if you will all support it by writing in.

CHESSMEN
Every Tuesday and Thursday "at 5.30, in the Green Room of the Penin- sula Hotel, a group of young people meet for a thought combat that lasts
one and * half to two hours. They are a group of chess enthu-. siasts, learning the fundamentals of the game from Mr. K. Welas. His pupila improve all the time and then their teacher shows more of his real strength. Would you like to learn chess? Even if you have never played before you have your chance now to learn from an expert:
It's free; Mr. Weisa is doing it because he loves the game and wants to pass his knowledge on to others. Don't be embarrassed if you don't know any
chess at all. There are many others who have started from scratch there and now are fairly good players. 'I say fairly good because the class has only been going for a month.

You all get an allowance from your parents, money » to spend on moyles
and sweets, and things like that. The question is, just what things should you be expected to buy for yourself, and at what age?

What do you teen agera⚫ think? Teen agers can-think as straight as their parents, only they are fresher and have no experience.
