At yesterday's resumed hearing of the trial of William Allen, Man Kam-fat and Chui Hong before Mr. Justice E. H. Williams (Chiet Justice), Pun Ping, pork dealer, told the Court that in Aug. 1946 he was approached by Man Kam-fat for $150 to pay for clothing ordered by Allen. Pun claimed that he pall the money because he was afraid that if he did not Allen could have him arrested for selling, meat in the streets. Allen, Man Kam-fat and Chui Hong are charged on 25 counts. There are three counts against Allen and Man Kam-fat alleging conspiracy to obtain, bribes from stallholders in the Sham- shulpo, Mongkok and Yaumati Markets be- tween Aug. 1946 and Sept. 1947, three counts of alleged conspiracy against Allen and Chui Hong, 19 counts of accepting bribes, 12 against Allen, four against Allen and Man Kam-fat and three against Allen and Chui Hong.
