The Treasury today officially denied a report from Bombay that an interim agreement on India's sterling balance had been reached covering the period from July 15 to the end of the year and releasing during that period £60,000,000 of India's sterling balance in freely convertible
currency.
It was thought in London financial circles today that an agreement would probably not be an- nounced until next week and it was doubted whether the figure could be as large as £60,000,000.
