CRICKET INTEREST REPORTED LAGGING AT INDIAN R.C.

By "Incog."

INTEREST IN CRICKET AT INDIAN RE- CREATION CLUB APPEARS TO HAVE FLAG- 'GED VERY CONSIDERABLY, AND UNLESS SOME OF THE OLDER MEMBERS CAN BE PERSUADED TO SET AN EXAMPLE IN RE- GARD TO SPENDING MORE TIME AT THE NETS, IT IS TO BE FEARED THAT THIS CLUB WILL BE IN FOR ANOTHER LEAN YEAR.

A thousand pities, for time was when I.R.C. was regarded as one of the leading cricket clubs in the Colony. Not only had they results to show for it, but they were always invariably the first to get down to matches and nets, for when other clubs were not quite ready for games they were already playing amongst themselves at Sookunpoo.

V.R.C. POOL NOW OPEN TO CONTENDERS

In conversation with one of the members of that club yesterday. I learned that, while the older members were willing and ready enough to do their bit. the young blood, due to their anxiety to play too many games at the same time, are not quite as keen as the Juntors were some 10 years ago, when nets were crowded every evening, Sundays included.

AH Rumjahn, who has been playing First Division cricket for is still keen enough on the game to turn out Club announce that en- jevery Saturday and Speed a couple of evenings at the nets trants for the Colony in the bargain, S.
