Civil Service Pair Win

At Club de Recreio, J. F. Mac- Gowan and N. J. Bebbington, of Civil Service Cricket Club, beat W. B. Harris and A. Soutar, of Police Recreation Club, by 30-12 in the Fourth Round of the Colony Lawn Bowls Pairs Championship. Civil Service pair scored at seven of the first eight heads to lead 144. They lend 25-5 at the 13th and 29-8 at the 17th and finally won by 18 shots after scoring at 14 ends,

DURING THE 1941 BASEBALL LEAGUE SEASON SEVERAL PLAYERS RETURNED -PER- FECT FIELDING PERFORMANCES, BUT THEIR FAILURE TO PARTICIPATE IN SEVEN GAMES, THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF APPEARANCES TO QUALIFY FOR HONOURS, AUTOMATICALLY EXCLUDES THEM FROM THE TITLE IN THE VARIOUS FIELDING DEPARTMENTS, BUT FOR

SOFTBALL PROBLEM

Owing to the large number of teams In the Second-and Third Divisióng of Hong Kong Pootball-League and the fact that a large number of gamce will be played on Sundays, Softball Association-are expected to experience considerablo difficulty in obtaining grounds for the fixtures.

Kowloon Football Club ground, where the major games will be played, la only free on a limited number of Bunday afternoons, while the Chatham Road and Prince Edward Road grounds will be required for soccer on most after- noons.

The only solution for Softball appears to have all games played on Sunday mornings.
