CHINESE BEAT REST

Rest Defence Given Very Trying Time

Williamson The Best Player For The Losers

By "Referee”

COMBINED CHINESE defeated the Rest of the Colony in the Charity Football game yesterday in aid of the British Fund for the Relief of Distress in China by 3 goals to I after the Rest team had scored first.

Both teams made changes in their teams. Shee- han was absent from the Rest team and his place was taken by Hendy of Navy while Kwok King-kee replaced Soong Ling-sing at right half.

The early stages of the game! was interesting but in the second00000 half the match was played at al slower pace with the Chinese

doing most of the attacking.

The Chinese attack was the contributing factor to their win as they were faster on the ball and more methodical in their at- tacks and only sheer bad luck prevented the score from bigger.

being

Woods, chosen as left wing started the game on

the right wing, with B. Gosano on the left but they changed places in the second half.

Moxham, in goal, started con- vincingly but was not his usual self. in the second half, being had in his positioning. Blackburn and Hendy were safe backs and the former relieved many an awkward-situation.

Centre Controlled

Hsu King-seng, the pivot, had control of the centre of the field and distributed the ball almost a will to good effect. Lau Hing-cha and Kwok Ying-kee, the wing halves, did not have very muc. to do.
