FORD REFUSAL TO BUILD
FOR BRITAIN

The breakdown of the negotiations with Henry Ford for the manufacture"] of aero-engines for both Britain and the United States does not affect pos- sible future orders for planes and en- gines for the United States, declared the spokesman of the National De- fence Commission.
The proposed order for aeroplanej engines to be divided between Britain and the United States, fell through, the spokesman explained, because two- thirds of the engines were intended for Britain and the number remaining after Ford's refusal to. manufacture for Britain was insufficient for mass
