GERMAN SAVAGERY AT ABBEVILLE
London, To-day.
Abbeville, where the German advance turned northward towards the Chan- nel ports, was bombed to pieces by the German air force before their troops seized the town, according to a Red Cross man who has just left northern France.
He said: "The last time I saw Abbeville it was one vast desolation of smouldering ruins, with shattered streets strewn with dead and dying women and children.
"The Germans bombed it apparently without thought of military objec- tives, dropping high explosive and incendiary bombs and incendiary darts which shoot about like jumping crackers."—Reuter.

Reserve Advisable “
General Weygand is anxious not to help the enemy by giving them any information which might be useful, hence, it will not always be possible to announce what towns have been taken or retaken, as there is reason to believe that the e advance German units may not have means of com- municating with their headquarters,
